In de jachthaven is het vaak lastig een goede internet verbinding te krijgen met de wifi in de havens. De wifi ontvangst is vaak niet voldoende of zelfs slecht. Door een externe USB Wifi antenne/adapter aan te sluiten op de BoatController heeft u altijd de beste en snelste Wifi ontvangst aan boord. De BoatController maakt verbinding met de haven en u heeft dan direct op uw smartphone/tablet of PC internet aan boord. Via de Wifi Hotspot van de BoatController heeft u zo internet en ontvangt u gelijktijdig de navigatie data van uw boot.
Er zijn wel apparaten die de wifi ontvangst verbeteren, echter ondersteunen ze vaak maar een beperkt aantal internet providers. De BoatController ondersteunt ook Ziggo en UPC hotspots.
De BoatController is compatible met alle wifi adapters die zijn voorzien van de RT3070 of RTL8188CUS chipset, zoals onze adapters in deze rubriek, maar ook de bekende Powerwifi, Turbowifi, Nauticwifi, Digital Yacht WL70 WI-FI BOOSTER, enz.

I have just been busy for one hour incl. installation of the boatcontroller. The wifi, wifi harbour and AIS are all working.
Just follow the instructions and it works!
It’s easy and clear to login into the boatcontroller, it cannot go wrong. I saw immediately on my Ipad (in Inavx) other AIS boats, that was great!
I don’t use the star-trak anymore, that is so difficult in using it. Maybe some day I’ll use it again, but don’t think so, think I will sell it on the second hand market.

My wish was to get the AIS data wireless to PC-navigo. In search of a payable solution, I end up on the site of the Boatcontroller. A company which develops hardware as well as software for nautical applications. The support is great and all info is explaned in clear instructions, of which every watersport enthusiast is waiting for.
In the meantime the setup is working, in which the Boatcontroller transports the data from the AIT2000 AIS through wifi to my laptop.
On the laptop runs PC-navigo and PolarCom, which shows several instruments on the PC-screen.
Besides that, I can connect my Wifi outside antenna (which I already had) with the Boatcontroller, so I can use internet in the harbour.
My project is a succes, thanks to the Boatcontroller!

USB Waterdicht:
De USB stekker van de antenne kan door ons of uzelf vervangen worden door een waterdichte USB stekker, u heeft dan meteen de mogelijkheid om de kabel eventueel in te korten.
Door gebruik te maken van de Panel Mount waterdichte USB verlengkabel van 12 mtr kunt u dan de USB kabel bijvoorbeeld door het dek waterdicht naar binnenvoeren. U kunt nu ook buiten eenvoudig de antenne verwijderen en de ingang waterdicht afsluiten met de nylon dop/cap.

The by Scout given transmission power is 754mw, we compared the antenna with Alfa Tube U(N) RT3070 chipset 1000mw with an 9dbi antenne.
The conclusion is that this Scout antenna is creating faster connections at larger distances and at shorter distances comparable is.
The Scout is seeing a bit less available networks in the surroudings, but with the extra visible networksz with the Tube was no connection possible.
Voor Wifi Harbour hoeft u niets te installeren in de BoatController of op uw tablet smartphone of PC!
